Gabriel was ALDF's FEO (Feline Executive Officer). Most of us remember the day, years ago, when Gabriel arrived at ALDF. A nearby resident didn't want him any more. Our vet advised that Gabriel was about 15 years old, had a thyroid problem, failing kidneys and required daily hydration. It became obvious that Gabriel was ours to keep. And our to delight in. Gabriel would sit for hours on our laps, nuzzle our faces, purr loudly and demand to be petted.

About a year ago, we dicided the CEO needed to retire. He went to the home of an ALDF staff person where he received 'round the clock medical care and plenty of loving lap time. In April, our cherished companion died peacefully while in his caregiver's arms.
